With over 20 years of experience in public and private sectors, Anderton Planning and Conservation has knowledge and experience of advising on a range of planning projects of varied scope and complexity.

Sophie Anderton is the Managing Director of Anderton Planning and Conservation. She has over 20 years experience in the field of planning and conservation in both public and private sectors throughout the UK.

She started her career in local government and gained valuable experience in the essential functions covering planning policy, development control, regeneration and conservation at several local authorities including:

  • Cambridge City Council
  • Powys County Council
  • Torfaen County Borough Council
Sophie established Anderton Planning and Conservation in 2004 and has worked on a wide range of development projects during the last 16 years; from domestic extensions, changes of use and agricultural developments, to barn conversions and works to listed and historic buildings. 

She is a fully chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and as a qualified Architectural Conservation specialist, pursues her passion for preserving heritage buildings by providing expert insights, advice and support to private individuals, architects, surveyors, builders and planning consultancies.

Working primarily within the Brecon Beacons National Park and Powys County Council areas, she also consults on sites in Herefordshire, Carmarthenshire, Monmouthshire, Caerphilly, Blaenau Gwent and North Hertfordshire local authority areas.
