Project Challenges

To save this Grade II listed farmhouse, at risk of collapse and total loss, from further loss of fabric through urgent repairs, and securing a programme of work to conserve as an historic asset for future generations.
To provide a modern family home with minimal alteration and harm to its vernacular character detailing, depicted through its multiple phases of development.
Materials to be used in repair and potential conflict with bat mitigation, requirement for introduction of services for internal water supply, heating system and electrical installation.

 

Project Outcome

Well conserved historic vernacular farmhouse providing a modern family home, including a new single storey extension to accommodate an open plan kitchen. The repair and occupation of the house will secure its long term conservation as a valuable historic asset.
